Schedule: 4-day workweek (36 hours/week; core schedule 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with variable fifth production day; one Friday per month reserved for team meetings and professional development
Compensation: $22–$30/hour (based on experience) + variable quarterly bonus

About Hayes Window Restoration
Hayes Window Restoration is the Twin Cities’ premier window restoration company, passionately preserving the beauty and function of historic wood windows. In our millwork shop, we design and build custom wood storm windows and primary sash with care, ensuring historic character is honored and original materials stay out of landfills. Position Overview
As a Sash Maker, you will be an essential member of our millwork team, responsible for fabricating high-quality, custom wood storm windows and primary sash. This position is entirely shop-based and requires hands-on woodworking using both basic and specialized tools.
What You’ll Do:
- Fabricate and assemble custom wood storm windows and sash in our dedicated millwork shop
- Use shop tools and machines—like table saws, jointers, planers, sanders—to cut, shape, and finish components to precise specs
- Follow detailed work orders and production plans to ensure every piece meets our high standards
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment
- Collaborate with the millwork team and Production Manager to complete tasks to our quality standards efficiently and on time
- Learn and apply best practices in traditional window joinery and historic millwork techniques
What We’re Looking For:
- Prior experience with woodworking tools and machinery (table saws, jointers, planers, sanders, etc.)
- A detail-oriented craftsman who takes pride in producing precise, high-quality work
- Ability to read measurements, plans, and work orders accurately
- A team player who communicates respectfully and thrives in collaboration
- A self-starter who is organized, punctual, and able to stay focused
- Eagerness to develop skills in traditional and custom millwork techniques
Physical Requirements
- Hourly pay: $22–$30/hour, based on experience
- Quarterly bonuses – variable, based on results
- Paid Time Off/Sick Days: Accrual starting at 3 weeks per year, increasing to 4 weeks after year one
- Paid holidays: 6 days annually
- Health and dental premium reimbursement via QSEHRA (eligible after 90 days)
