Hayes Window Restoration is growing and hiring! We would like to add an individual to our team who has an appreciation of old houses and is interested in learning the hands-on work of repairing and restoring original wood windows. We recognize that few people have the skills or knowledge to hit the ground running in this field, but we love to teach!

Traits we are looking for in include a keen attention to detail, an eagerness to learn, a true desire to work with one's hands, and an overall positive attitude. There is no set of hard skills we require, but a history with painting, woodworking, carpentry, old house repair, or other crafts have proven to be good indicators that someone will be a "quick study" in this line of work.

Original wood windows are central to the charm and character of older homes in the Twin Cities. We take pride in restoring these windows to their original beauty rather than seeing them tossed in the landfill and replaced by something that is aesthetically inferior and that will likely last twenty years at best. The windows we work with are often 100 years old or more, and the care we provide will help them last another 100 years.

If you are interested in learning more about the position, please email [email protected] and share a bit about yourself and why you are interested in restoring original wood windows. Pay starts at $15-$20/hour, depending on experience.

Thank you! We look forward to hearing from you.
