Window Restoration Technician – Shop

Location: South Minneapolis
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; One Friday per month for staff meetings and professional development
Compensation: $20–$25/hour (based on experience) + performance bonuses up to $4,000 annually

🔧 Position Overview

As a Shop Technician, you’ll play a crucial role in our restoration workshop in South Minneapolis. Your responsibilities will include:

• Restoring historic window sashes: Stripping paint, putty, and stain; sanding; cutting and replacing glass panes; applying new putty; and finishing with shellac, staining, and painting.
• Collaborating with a small team: Working closely with colleagues to ensure high-quality results and continuous learning.
• Participating in comprehensive training: Gaining skills in all areas of window sash restoration through hands-on experience.

Previous experience with glazing, painting, or woodworking is a plus but not required.

🏋️ Physical Requirements

• Ability to carry 50 pounds for up to 50 feet.
• Ability to wear a respirator during paint removal work.
• Willingness to participate in our lead safety program, including blood lead level monitoring.
• Ability to work independently once trained.
• Self-motivated and punctual.
• Ability to work on your feet for a 9-hour workday.
• Steady hand work with a glazing knife and paintbrush, or ability to learn.

• Competitive pay: $20–$25/hour, depending on experience.
